The 3.0 litre V6 is the pinnacle of X-TYPE power and performance. Smooth and deceptively quiet, it sprints from 0-60mph in just 7.3 seconds (Automatic Estate). Coupled with Jaguar´s Traction4® all-wheel drive as standard, it delivers effortless, refined performance with extraordinary grip and agility. It produces most of its torque at low to medium engine speeds, allowing a smooth surge of power for confident overtaking.    

The fuel-efficient X-TYPE Diesel is remarkably quiet and refined for a car with this level of confident, responsive power. The 2.0 litre diesel sports unique short nozzle injectors to provide an overboost of up to 350 Nm of torque (from a normal maximum of 330Nm). This gives you decisive, rapid acceleration when you need it, while the high levels of torque at low engine speeds make for fast, relaxed cruising. The turbocharged power unit delivers an impressive 0-60mph in 9.5 seconds (Estate 9.8 seconds), as well as exceptional torque at lower engine speeds for confident overtaking with low emissions. The X-TYPE Diesel engine in the saloon allows over 600 miles on one tankful of fuel.   

X-TYPE 2.2litre diesel engine has been developed to give X-TYPE drivers a high performance diesel alternative to the hugely successful 2.0 litre diesel model. It delivers class-leading power and torque with extremely high levels of refinement. Although it can develop up to 400 Nm of torque and more than 300 Nm over a wide range of engine speeds, the 2.2 litre diesel is extremely low in emissions and best in its class for quietness.

Jaguar engineers have developed new technology to ensure instant refined performance, demonstrated by a linear throttle response that will be surprising to drivers of traditional diesels. New drive shafts have been designed to match the engine´s full torque potential so that even when the car is fully loaded or towing, it has excellent pulling power in low gears.

A six-speed manual transmission is available as well as for the first time in this model range, the X-TYPE now offers the combination of diesel power with automatic transmission – pairing the 2.2 litre diesel with a six-speed automatic, and the one-touch control of Jaguar Sequential Shift™
